Barrel Fountains

Tennessee Barrel Fountain Company came to fruition in 2005 when a backyard project took on a life of its own.

When my husband’s company transferred us to Tennessee, I found myself in a situation where I was facing my oldest child heading off to college and my youngest, which is now in elementary school, becoming more and more self sufficient every day. “What to do?”

I knew that it would be difficult to find employment that would coincide with the non paying position that I currently held. I wondered how I was going to complete a resume to include a 17 year work history that involved no salary, being on duty or at least on call 24-7, with a job description that included accountant, chauffeur, counselor, chef, nurse and educator.

That problem seemed to solve itself when I took on the job of landscaping the backyard of our home. Being deficient in the green thumb department, I left all the trees and shrubberies up to our landscaper. With creativity being my strong suit, I knew I wanted something that would remind me of our many visits to the beautiful Smoky Mountains.

I knew I couldn't build a mountain, besides; it was the sight and sound of a Smoky Mountain stream that I was looking for. You know the kind that tumbles down the slope and over the rocks as a frothy, cascading waterfall.

After two years in the developing stage, the Barrel Fountain finally came to life.
